Serendipitous events: becoming addicted to Ring Them Bells, having multiple people ask me every week about my writing, making friends with a dear girl who is a lovely poet, having someone ask if I had a blog for my writing. The first left me with some important realizations: creative writing need not always be longer, more complete pieces (this, this here, this rambling, may perhaps luck out and find itself slotted into some category more lofty than pointless brain chatter), there are other people who write in a similar style to me (or, perhaps, there are other people to whom I write similarly), and if it feels like writing, it probably is. The second left me wanting to write, simple as that. The third has introduced me to some delightful ways of thinking and reminded me of both the importance of language (pausing conversations to write down a word because it was just so right) and the significance of the smallest moments (a lesson I had learned in my photography long ago, but kept forgetting when it came to my writing). The fourth made me wonder why I didn't have a writing blog. So, here I am, sharing my brain chatter turned creative writing with all of you.
